60 Some notes from the Foundation of Medieval Genealogy:

According to Salazar y Castro, she was Mayor García de Aza, daughter of García García Señor de Aza & his wife Sancha Pérez de Traba. This parentage is supposedly confirmed by the charter dated 27 Oct 1242. The original text of the charter dated 27 Oct 1242 has not yet been found, so it is not possible to assess the extent that the extract as provided by Salazar y Castro strays from the its wording.

80 Salazar y Castro names her as the wife of the 2nd Senor de Garciez and the daughter of "Martin" Rodriguez de Biedma, Senor de Sanisteban del Puerto, but does not name her mother.

91 Given the proximity of our Diego de la Torre to so many others, it is not entirely certain if Mathiana is the daughter of this Diego de la Torre. Mathiana de la Torre (See Notes)

92 He is not to be confused with the Diego de la Torre who was married to Juana Velasques, the Diego de Torres who was married to Juana Rico, or the Diego de Torres Delgado who was married to Maria Jacinta de Loera; all of which lived in relatively close proximity to each other and were having children at approximately the same time.

Evidence suggests that our Diego de la Torre may have been related to these other Diegos, especially with the Diego de la Torre who was married to Juana Velasques, but any exact relation is yet to be uncovered.

It should be noted that the following could easily be confused as, but are not the children of our Diego de la Torre:

Juana de la Torre who was married to Sebastian Barron,
Alexo de la Torre who was married to Luisa Rodrigues,
Pedro de la Torre who was married to Maria de Monsivaes,
Sixto Alejo de Torres who was married to Brigida Gertrudis Sanches,
Diego de Torres who was married to Maria del Rosaria Ynfante,
Nicolas Antonio de Torres who was married to Maria de Jesus de Cardenas,

95 Many of the ancestral lines of General Don Antonio Maldonado Zapata, Caballero de la Orden de Santiago, are covered in the manuscripts of the genealogist Don Luis de Salazar y Castro, Caballero de la Orden de Calatrava. The ancestry of Maldonado Zapata that appears in this data base is mostly based on Salazar y Castro's research unless I have spotted elsewhere in more contemporary sources that it has been proven otherwise. General Don Antonio de Maldonado y Zapata, Caballero de la Orden de Santiago, Alcalde Mayor de la Ciudad de Teposcolula

99 She appears as the daughter of Artal de Pallas and Lucia de la Marche in the papers of Luis de Salazar y Castro. Assuming this is correct, her ancestry would be as it appears in this data base. Doña Maria de Pallars Sobirà

100 It does not seem likely that she was 90 when she died as her death record states. This would mean she was still bearing children in her 60?s. The informant for her death record may have thought she was older then she was. Doña Maria de Quezada
